What are Yeast Extracts?

Yeast Extract is a natural ingredient with flavor-enhancing properties that act as a flavor enhancer and help mask off-flavors. Yeast Extracts are low in sodium and allow the incorporation of natural nucleotides for customization, according to the customer’s needs.

Yeast extract, comprising the soluble components of yeast cells, is mainly composed of amino acids, peptides, carbohydrates, and salts.

What are Yeast Extracts used for?

Remove Monosodium Glutamate from the recipe and label it as “Yeast Extract” instead of No. E621.
Reduce the final amount of sodium in the product: less salt is added, and the extract is introduced in the recommended dosage.
Enhance the flavor of the processed product by directly adding the extract to the recommended dosage.

Functional advantages:

Decrease the sodium content and improve the flavor of the ingredients in some formulations.
In cheese-filled products, decrease the cost of the formulation.
Good quality/price ratio
Decrease the use of spices, a source of micro-contamination.
Clear label: yeast extract
High nutritional value of yeast
Possibility to customize the content of Natural Nucleotides according to each customer’s needs.
Does not contain GMO. Kosher and Halal certified
